Foreground has developed relationships with schools at all stages of the statutory education system in the Frome area to maximise the number and range of school children who will have contact with the project.
Activities have been designed to provide creative ways to explore national curriculum subjects and deepen pupils' engagement with and understanding of art & design.
In addition, Foreground has worked directly with subject head teachers to develop in-depth projects for their students around the exhibition. One such initiative includes a innovative 'collapsed curriculum' day for year nine students at Frome Community College that will allow students to explore the links between a number of core curriculum subjects and art through the themes and mechanisms found in Intervention/Decoration.
Teachers can download a comprehensive teachers pack with activity ideas for children at a range of key stages that can be utilised during a visit to the exhibition and within the classroom here.
If you would like to arrange to visit the exhibition with a group please contact Foreground on 01373 888187 or email getinvolved@foregroundprojects.org.uk.
